Koh Muk (Koh Mook)

Kradan’s neighbour, with a village and cliffs

Koh Muk (also spelled Koh Mook) is Kradan’s much larger neighbour, a short longtail ride across the channel. Where Kradan is all resorts and forest, Koh Muk has a living village — a Muslim fishing community on its east side with a mosque, small shops, simple restaurants and a school — and a more varied mix of guesthouses, bungalows and resorts.

Its west coast is the dramatic side: Charlie Beach (Hat Farang) faces the sunset, and to its north the cliffs plunge into the sea where the Emerald Cave opens. If you want a little village life, cheaper food and a few more choices, Koh Muk is a good alternative or addition to Kradan.
